Social Project: YK Kids Get Ready to School 2022 – 1st Half (February 2022)

As Malaysia moves towards the endemic stage of managing the COVID-19 pandemic, schools begin to open up and more and more students begin returning to physically back to their schools. The start of the school year always brings financial implications to parents, who need to buy new school uniforms and supplies for their children, yet for many, it is a time of high stress due to the expense caused.

Yayasan Kossan was able to help 355 students from underprivileged families this year as they get ready for the 2022 school session. Students from the following twelve schools were identified to receive aid from YK:

  2. SK Abdul Samat
  3. SK Meru 2(Jalan Paip)
  4. SK (1) Simpang 5
  5. SJKC Chuen Min
  6. SJKC Kee Beng
  7. SJKC Tsing Nian
  8. SJKC Khai Tee
  9. SJKT Ladang Highlands
  10. SJKT Jalan Meru
  11. SJKT Ladang Emerald
  12. SJKT Vageesar

For each student, they were provided with necessities needed to begin schooling. This includes the school uniform (2 sets), shoes (1 pair), socks (2 pairs), stationery (1 set), one school bag, one water bottle, one pencil case, 10 pieces of face masks and 1 bottle of hand sanitizer.
