Social Project: Adopt a Friend 2022 (July 2022)

When the pandemic hit Malaysia in March 2020, it did not take long for public attractions to feel the effects of the lockdown. Zoo Negara, Malaysia’s national zoo, was one of the organizations that was deeply impacted by the lockdowns, as their income came solely from the daily sales of their entrance tickets. Yayasan Kossan is proud to have lent their support to Zoo Negara’s adoption program since 2019.

This year, we have donated RM10,000 and have adopted 10 animals, which are the panda, rhinoceros, hornbill, white tiger, penguin, black leopard, porcupine, elephant, ring tailed lemur, racoon, and black and white lemur.

The pandemic has witnessed Malaysian citizens banding together to adopt and support our national zoo, and we hope that this effort will continue in the years to come.
