Social Aid: YK Remis Beach Cleaning 2022 (November 2022)

Pantai Remis, or the Remis Beach located in Jeram, Kuala Selangor, is a tourist hotspot and convenient weekend getaway location for visitors looking to enjoy peaceful waves and a cool breeze by the sandy shore. It is a popular place for families and groups to enjoy picnics and barbecues as well as to enjoy the sunset to the west. Yet, as a tourist hotspot, the beach has also suffered from the accumulation of waste that has tainted its white shores.

In early November 2022, a total of 33 volunteers from Yayasan Kossan drove down to Pantai Remis to clean the beach. The event began at 8.00AM with a light breakfast and morning exercise. The volunteers were then assigned to several locations around the beach to begin collecting the trash. By the time the event ended at 12.00PM, a total of 268.59kg of trash was collected – the equivalent of around three yards of dumpsters!

Let us strive to do our part to keep our beaches clean. Bring your trash home, don’t litter, and take care of our beaches!
