Social Aid: YK Kids Get Ready to School – 1st Half

The new school year began a few weeks ago, and as part of our annual program to aid students in need, we once again ran the YK Kids Get Ready to School for the first half of this school year. 170 students from six schools and one non-governmental organization were identified to receive aid this year. These include:

• SK Tambak Jawa
• SK Kampung Jawa 2
• SK Tok Muda
• SJKC Yit Khwan
• SJKC Ijok
• SJKC Bagan Pasir
• Pusat Khidmat Ahli Majlis Jawatankuasa Penduduk (JKP) Zon 15

As part of the aid given this year, each student was provided with two sets of standard school uniforms, one pair of school shoes, two pairs of school socks, one stationery set, one school bag, one water bottle, one pencil case, and one lunch box. The students were selected by each school who knew of their families’ financial backgrounds. Representatives from YK individually visited each school for the handover ceremony.
