Social Aid: Christmas Celebration @ D’Home (December 2022)

Some events allow us to gather a large number of volunteers to bring light and cheer to those we help. And some, due to unavoidable circumstances, only allow us to bring very few along. Regardless, it is worth reminding ourselves that what is important is the intention behind every action we take. Such is the case for the Christmas celebration that we held at D’home, an old folks’ home in Klang, Selangor.

For this celebration, only two volunteers from Yayasan Kossan were allowed to participate. The event began at 10AM with Mr. Lourdes, the house supervisor, welcoming us by playing the guitar. Together with the occupants of the home, we sang Christmas songs together to bring cheer and joy. As arranged, Santa Clause then made his appearance afterwards and gave gifts to everyone. At 12PM, the occupants were served a delicious Kenny Rogers lunch sponsored by Yayasan Kossan, bringing an end to this wonderful celebration.
