Social Aid: YK Digital Aid Launching

We are excited to announce the launch of a new program, the YK Digital Aid, that was officiated by our Vice President Mr RK Suppiah earlier this month. YK Digital Aid is a new initiative between the Kossan Group of Companies and Yayasan Kossan, where used computers under the Kossan Group of Companies are refurbished and donated to orphanages, schools and underprivileged families by Yayasan Kossan.

The first launch of this program was graciously hosted by SK Meru. Six schools and three orphanages were involved, where each beneficiary received one computer monitor, one central processing unit, one mouse, one keyboard, and two power cords. The selected schools and orphanages were:

• SK Meru (event host)
• SK Bukit Kapar
• SK Sungai Kapar Indah
• SJKT Ladang Highlands
• SJKT Vageesar
• SJKT Jalan Meru
• Rumah Kanak-Kanak Triniti
• Pertubuhan Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR)
• Persatuan Kasih Sayang Kanak-Kanak Padmasambhava Klang

In this launching event, two representatives were chosen from each beneficiary and 25 prefects were also involved from SK Meru. The event started at 9AM with a speech by the SK Meru headmaster. This was followed by a speech by Mr. RK Suppiah, who then officiated the event and handed out the computer sets to the beneficiaries. The event ended at 10AM with a photo session and light refreshments. Overall, this initiative seeks to support digital inclusion for the community in need. Thus, we hope that this contribution will inspire other large companies to do the same for the benefit of the community.
