Social Project: Mural Painting Sponsorship for Schools (January – August 2022)

There was once a time when graffiti was scorned as being damaging to buildings and the environment. Yet, as a community, Malaysia has now begun to embrace the appreciation of art that is preserved on the walls of buildings. Mural artists nationwide are regularly commissioned to bring back alleys and empty walls to life.

To welcome students back to face-to-face learning following the COVID-19 pandemic, Yayasan Kossan hired a painter to paint beautiful murals at school walls to increase this appreciation for street art among school students between January to August 2022.

The schools that received this sponsorship include SJKC Ijok, SJKC Bagan Pasir, SJKC Hai Ping, SJKC Kampung Gurney, and SJKC Aik Thee. Paints were also sponsored for schools to beautify their garden area. As an organization, we hope that these efforts will continue to brighten the days of the students and teachers of the schools.
