Social Project: Wave the Malaysian Flag (August 2022)
A few years ago, it is a common sight to see school buildings, roads, houses, and cars adorned with the red and white stripes of the Malaysian flag. Primary school students would color in the flags of Malaysia to hang around their classrooms, painting the country in reds, whites, blues, and yellows in celebration of the Independence of the country.
Yet, sadly, this tradition is slowly being forgotten, as less and less flags are waved with each passing Independence Day.
Yayasan Kossan took the initiative this year to donate Malaysia and Selangor flags to schools, police stations, fire stations and the community nearby to emphasize the importance of publicly and openly showing the love for the nation through waving the Malaysia flag. We hope that this small effort, done continuously, will ensure that the spirit of displaying the Malaysian flag will never die.
