Social Project: YK Chinese New Year Giveaway (January 2022)

The new year of 2022 marks the year of the lion for the Chinese calendar. While the lion symbolizes strength, bravery and clearing away evil, Yayasan Kossan turned to the less fortunate to help those in need. In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations in January 2022, we brought joy and celebration to the wise and elderly generation in eight old folks’ homes around Malaysia.

The places we visited were Beautiful Gate, Stillwater, Rumah Orang Tua Chong Keng Seong, Sentosa Nursing Home, Chik Sin Tong Old Folks Home, Good Samaritan Home, Rumah Sejahtera Bidor, and Rumah Sejahtera Tanjung Malim.

Apart from the standard provisions required for elderly care such as rice, diapers, sugar, biscuits, and cleaning items among others, we added numerous CNY condiments to these 223 beneficiaries to bring smiles on their faces on this joyous day. We brought Kenny Rogers packed lunches, mandarin oranges, and Chinese New Year angpow of RM10.00 each.

With the strength of the lion, we were happy to use the strength that we had to continuously help those in need and bring joy to the hearts of those we touch.
